It is called rattle fish because of the tail and for lack of a better name. This is definitely one of my most fragile MOCs especially the head. Unfortunately i dropped him and had to rebuild him but it came out looking better than it was, somehow.
It all started with the huna mask then the the rest of the head came together and i already had a idea for the body. I was going to make it like and sea monster king with arms but couldn't get the arms in so instead left it like a fish. Work time 4h or 2h cant remember-also i got Flickr
I really like it! I don't see anything wrong with it being abstract - if anything, that's wholly positive, in my opinion. You've got a great texture going on here, too. Good job!
I have mixed feelings about this one. There's your usual Nice parts usage, but the abstract nature of this build goes too far in my opinion. Your other MOCs have some kind of familiarity, this thing looks like a blob with eyes and a tail. I don't really get "fish" from looking at this. The fire pieces on the back and the rubber band holding the head together is really off putting. Your MOCs are always right up on that line of abstract, but I feel this one crosses the line into just plain old confusing and unrecognizable, or possibly uncomparable. One thing I do like about it is the color arrangement, that's well done.
yeah i agree it is very abstract, everyone else said that too. I seem to be on a roll with abstract MOC. I wasn't particularly going for a fish feel but i sorta had to relate it with something. This was more of an experimental build than a how do i say proper MOC. I was working more on the structure rather than what it looked like(Fish)My dad said it looked like more of a bird.
Yeah I could see that, but without any real form, nothing to compare it to, no one can really say if you did a good job with the structure. That and I consider ruberband holding things together deplorable structuring. That's just me though. I myself have used building techniques I've seen others use that I think is terrible structuring. If something can fall off too easily I don't like it. But stability means no small parts. That's just the way it is.
